Experience More Than Pain Relief
Many people, when asked to think about Chiropractic, automatically think of conditions such as neck/back pain, headaches and sciatica. Often, people don’t realize that chiropractic care is also effective for issues such as ADD, allergies, menstrual pains, and many other problems. Chiropractic is a safe and effective way to overcome many common health issues.
True Health Begins With Optimal Functioning
At the core of how we function is our nervous system. This system is the “master control” for every function of our body. Everything we see, smell, feel and everything we do, like smiling, laughing, learning, these are ALL controlled through the nervous system. At Back-2-Back Chiropractic we place the nervous system at the foundation of our care because your true health begins with the optimal functioning of your nervous system. We utilize the latest technology and techniques to assess your spine and nervous system for the cause of your concerns. The results will enable us to know where you have subluxations, how they are affecting you, and what we can do to help you. Using this knowledge, we utilize a variety of techniques to correct the subluxations that are limiting your optimal functioning.
Proper nervous system and spinal function is crucial to the development of your baby and essential to the well-being and comfort of mom. By ensuring that the pelvis and spine are in proper alignment and motion, chiropractic care helps to ensure that the developing baby has plenty of room to grow within the womb. By maintaining this proper alignment and motion throughout pregnancy, chiropractic care can also improve the ability of the expecting mother to have a safe and natural birth process – which is something that is extremely vital to the health of both mom and baby.
Vertebral Subluxations where the sacrum joins the pelvis can be quite common during the course of pregnancy. Besides potentially interfering with the baby assuming the normal head-down position in preparation for delivery, it can produce a variety of symptoms in mothers preparing for the culmination of their pregnancy.
The Webster Technique
Dr. Neil is one of a small number of Chiropractors in the Hillsboro/Beaverton area to be certified in Webster Technique. Developed by the late Larry Webster, D.C., this chiropractic technique helps release stress on the pelvis, relaxing surrounding ligaments and reducing the sacral vertebral subluxation to help restore more normal function.
Sacral vertebral subluxations may cause the tightening and twisting of pelvic muscles and ligaments, constraining the uterus. The goal of the Webster Technique is to reduce the effects of vertebral subluxation and the associated dysfunction of the sacroiliac joint. The result of Webster Technique is improvement in the neurobiomechanical function in the sacral/pelvic region, benefiting pregnant mothers or anyone else suffering from sacral vertebral subluxations.
From birth, children are regularly evaluated by medical providers. They get their physical evaluations, weight, height, listen to their heart and lungs, blood, vision, and hearing checked. They go to the dentist and start getting their teeth checked. Yet throughout this process many people don’t think to get their child’s spine checked.
The birth process, especially one that resulted in interventions, but even a “natural” one, is a very common cause of subluxation in newborns. As children continue to grow, their spines experience many forms of trauma as they learn to crawl, walk, play and begin sports. Even small falls, or injuries, may result in subluxations. Chiropractors are trained to detect and gently correct these subluxations.
As children grow, they can experience many different challenges such as asthma, allergies, ADD, ear infections, “growing pains”, and sports injuries. Making sure your child is free of subluxation can help them experience their life to the fullest and enable them to develop correctly.
At Back-2-Back Chiropractic, Dr. Neil has spent many hours dedicated to additional training for pediatric chiropractic care. He is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and is certified in Webster Technique.
